Breaking News: Prince Charles of Wales Tested Positive For COVID-19

Clarence House confirmed that Charles, Prince of Wales, the eldest son and of Queen Elizabeth II, has reported positive for the novel coronavirus pandemic, his office confirmed on Wednesday. The 71-year-old has some mild symptoms of COVID-19 but he is in good health otherwise, Clarence House shared in a statement.

Prince Charles Reports Positive for Coronavirus

The statement added that Charles has been in self-isolation in Scotland with the Duchess of Cornwall, who, however, tested negative for the dangerous coronavirus which has been affecting the people across the globe.

It is expected that Charles has reported positive on Monday night along with another six members of staff as well who are now in isolation as well.
It statement further added, “The tests were carried out by the NHS in Aberdeenshire where they met the criteria required for testing. It is not possible to ascertain from whom the Prince caught the virus owing to the high number of engagements he carried out in his public role during recent weeks.”
However, earlier this month, Prince Charles met with Prince Albert of Monaco as well, who later tested positive for coronavirus also. The 62-year-old reported positive within nine days after he met with the Prince of Wales at a WaterAid event in London.

On the other hand, Charles last met the Queen on March 12 and she remained in good health as well as per the statement from Buckingham Palace. He was recently seen at an Australian bushfire relief event which took place on March 12.

Moreover, he had not shaken hands with any of the people in recent times and did the namaste gesture instead. He had last attended in public with the Queen at Westminster Abbey where the royals including Prince William and Prince Harry on March 9.

On the other hand, the Queen has reached the Windsor Castle a week before amid the coronavirus threat while her husband Prince Philip has joined her there who came from Sandringham. Notably, Prince William stays in Norfolk.
