A Drunk Call By Tom Holland Creates History In The World Of MCU

A couple of months ago, every fan went through a tough phase when they got to know that Spider-Man will not be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, as per the new reports, Sony and Marvel finally managed to make an agreement with Spidey which will return to the MCU.

The entire Sony-Marvel incident became viral on the internet with people extremely upset about Sony who was pulling their character off of MCU’s roster. The custody battle was the toughest for Tom Holland since the movie had been a part of just the MCU.

Meanwhile, the news came that Tom himself played the biggest role in the agreement. Surprisingly, it all happened in his drunken state. Recently, he came on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and spoke about how everything got sorted. He talked about how sad he was when he got the news that Spidey is out of the MCU.

He shared that he was at D23 and the news had come out. After learning that, he was shattered and also upset. He was with Marvel friends when they were talking Marvel pictures and that became awful for him.

He sent an email to Disney’s CEO Bob Iger to thank him for the everything. After a couple of days, Tom was in a pub with his family in his hometown and he was three pints down, and also a little drunk when he got a call from Bob Iger. He received the call as his father encouraged him even though he was a little drunk, he answered the call and wept also.

He said, “I basically just said thank you for the opportunity, and then he added, ‘There’s a world where we can make this work. Then there was a bunch of phone calls back and forth from Tom Rothman [chair of Sony Pictures] — he was really instrumental in the process. We had a really good plan with what we were gonna do with Sony, the future of Spider-Man was still very bright, but it would’ve been a shame to take him out of the MCU.”
