Cesc Fabregas has expressed confidence that Arsenal will take all three points in their upcoming Premier League match against Manchester City on Sunday (September 22). The former Spain midfielder predicted a 2-1 victory for the Gunners.

Title Races In The Premier League

Arsenal and Manchester City have been involved in two thrilling title races in the Premier League over the past two seasons. However, both times ended with Manchester City successfully defending their title.

The Gunners have started the season well, securing three wins and a draw. Despite this solid performance, the north Londoners still trail Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, who have yet to drop any points.

The two teams are set to face off in a crucial Premier League clash at the Etihad Stadium this weekend. While previewing the match on the Planet Premier League podcast, Cesc Fabregas shared his thoughts and said,

“I’m going for 2-1 to Arsenal. There will be goals. I’m pretty sure there will be goals. I think you lose this weekend, it doesn’t have a big impact into the mind of the players, you know, going forward into the season, because there is still so many games to play,” reported Sportskeeda.

“Now, you lose this game in March, then that’s a big deal. We might see a little difference in terms of approach from the teams. It’s always been a very 50-50 game, you know, because they respect each other, they know all their weaknesses, they know their strengths,” he added.

Arsenal’s Tactical Approach Ahead of Crucial Fixtures

The Gunners are set to play Atalanta in the UEFA Champions League this Thursday (September 19) ahead of their match against Manchester City on Sunday.

Cesc Fabregas thinks Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta won’t have his team press forward against Manchester City this weekend. In their first league meeting last season at the Emirates, the Gunners claimed a 1-0 win over City, with Gabriel Martinelli scoring the decisive goal.

In the reverse fixture at the Etihad, the north Londoners adopted a more cautious approach, allowing Manchester City to push forward while they looked for opportunities to hit on the counterattack.

Although the match ended in a goalless draw, costing Arsenal two vital points in the title race, Fabregas maintains that Arteta has a clear strategy. Speaking on the previously mentioned podcast, he said: “I don’t know if they will do what they did last year. I don’t know if you guys remember that we were debating here when they just dropped into a low block and they were trying to get them on the counter.”
