Carrie Preston Shares Pictures With Michael Emerson on 26th Anniversary

To celebrate their 26th wedding anniversary, the 57-year-old Elsbeth actress Carrie Preston shared a heartfelt tribute on Instagram, posting old and recent photos of the couple. She highlights the bond with her husband Michael Emerson,69,  as it has grown stronger over time.

Preston Shared A Throwback Picture 

Preston started the post with a throwback picture of her and her husband. In the photo, she showed Emerson wearing a gray suit and brown tie and smiling at the camera as the actress smiled warmly beside him in a black dress.

“26 years ago, we said I do. And we are still saying it every day. Happy anniversary to @officialmichaelemerson – my partner in all things life. ❤️.” Preston captioned the post, reported by People. 

In the second photo, the couple posed side by side in what looked like a theater, both smiling at the camera. Emerson had his arm around his wife’s shoulder as they got in close for the photo.

The Mantra That Kept Their Marriage Alive 

Preston told People about their mantra that had made their marriage blossom and alive despite having busy schedules

She said, “We have to, because of work, spend a lot of time apart. I think he and I, maybe more than some other couples who are together all the time, really appreciate the time we do have together.”

She further explains that the distance “keeps things fresh” in her relationship with Emerson and says, “I do think there is something to the adage, ‘Absence makes the heart grow fonder.’ I really do think that is true.”

Preston shared that they don’t take things for granted when they are together in their relationship. They exchange gifts to show love for each other as they know there could be a “long stretch” of time before they can see each other again.

“That kind of thing is the kind of thing that we like to do to surprise each other,” the actress noted as once Emmerson had surprised her with a French toast at breakfast, and she added, “It’s the small gestures. We both have our romantic sides for sure.”
