Manchester United’s 3-0 loss against Liverpool was especially troubling for the Brazilian midfielder Casemiro, who was substituted at half-time. There were even rumors that the midfielder left Old Trafford during the break, however, Erik ten Hag declined the rumors.
“He Will Keep Contributing To Our Team”
“”I think that in football everyone has to take responsibility. I’m sure he is a great character and he won everything in his career that you can imagine. I am sure he will keep contributing to our team and Casemiro is always winning so he will be there,” Ten Hag said
Casemiro’s wife Anna Mariana posted a picture of his trophies on Instagram. He has won the Champions League five times, La Liga three times with Real Madrid, and the FA Cup with Manchester United recently.
She posted the picture with a caption that reads, “Always strong Casemiro, the biggest (flaming heart emoji).”
Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher said on Sky Sports: “It is a sad sight seeing what he’s going through out there.” the former Manchester United full-back Gary Neville added, “I have to say he’s lost his confidence a little bit.”
Replaced By Toby Collyer
Casemiro made two mistakes in the first 45 minutes of the game and was replaced by Toby Collyer in the break.
Ten Hag explained, “ We had to take risks because we want to bounce back, then you need players in midfield to cover ground, therefore we put Toby Collyer on the pitch.”
After Manchester United’s 4-0 defeat at Brentford in August 2022. Casemiro promised to fix the issues at Old Trafford before joining the club in a £70m deal. But has proven to be just another temporary solution to a deeper problem as his performance is declining.
