Broadway Has Revived Four Times
Our Town written by Thornton Wilder was first opened in 1938 on Broadway and gained huge popularity, winning the Pulitzer Prize.
Broadway has been revived four times with 2002 production marks as the most recent one led by the late Paul Newman.
Our Town marks Zoey Deutch’s Broadway debut, famously known for films like Set It Up (2018) and Something from Tiffany’s (2022). Moreover, she is the daughter of director Howard Deutch and actress Lea Thompson.
The production also sees Katie Holmes returning to Broadway after more than a decade, having last appeared in 2012’s Dead Accounts and making her debut in the 2008 revival of All My Sons.
Featuring Cast Members
Led by Jim Parsons as the stage manager narrator, the production features a large cast of 28 actors where Katie Holmes, known for Dawson’s Creek, will play Mrs. Webb in Our Town, opposite Tony and Emmy winner Richard Thomas as Mr. Webb while Zoey Deutch will join them as Emily Webb.
Jim Parsons last appeared in Mother Play, which ran from April 25 to June 16. The production received four Tony nominations, including Best Play and Best Featured Actor in a Play for Parsons.
The show also includes cast members such as Ephraim Sykes as George Gibbs, Billy Eugene Jones, Michelle Wilson, Donald Webber Jr., and Julie Halston while Newcomer Hagan Oliveras will play Wally Webb, Emily’s brother.
