Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign announced it has raised twice the amount of President Donald Trump’s campaign. They raised $310 million in July, bringing its war chest to $377 million.
Harris Outranks Trump in Campaign
Harris, the Democratic National Committee, and affiliated entities outranked the Republican former President Donald Trump, whose campaign raised an amount of $138.7 million for July.
It has been said that Vice President Harris’ campaign entered August with $377 million in cash on hand, making it the most for any candidate in the Presidential race. It was also well above the $327 million Trump’s team announced having to start the month.
”The tremendous outpouring of support we’ve seen in just a short time makes clear the Harris coalition is mobilized, growing, and ready to put in the work to defeat Trump this November,” Harris campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez said in a statement. ”Our money is going to the work that wins close elections.”
Kamala Harris is on the top of the ticket in just the first week
It is difficult to determine how much of Harris’ haul came after Biden exited the Presidential race on July 21 and endorsed Vice President in his place as the figures released by both campaigns do not include the fillings of the full Federal Elections Commission but soon will be revealed this month.
The Vice President’s strong haul came on the top of the ticket in her first week as Harris’ team revealed that it took in more than $200 million during her first week as a presidential candidate.
After her endorsement, they saw all the month more than 3 million donors make more than 4.2 million contributions with more than 2 million donors making their first donation this cycle, while 94% of July’s donations were under $200.
The campaign unveiled that 60% of donors in July were women as Harris prepares to be the first Asian-American black woman to be nominated for president by a major political party.
