36 Alien Civilisations might be Living in our Galaxy at Present

With the pandemic hitting the world ruthlessly in recent times, most have us have considered the current year as one of the worst in centuries. And for the unobvious reason, the interest in Alien civilisations has witnessed a sudden spike as all of us have been crazy to leave the planet in hope of living better days.

The astounding discovery

Now, here goes good news for those in quest of the mission as research conducted by the University of Nottingham has come up with some surprising claims. It states that there might exist 36 ‘active’ civilisations in The Milky Way.

Nearing the competition

The study is based on a calculation known as Astrobiological Copernican Limit which aimed to find out how many planets in our galaxy possess the capacity to support sound alien lifestyle. It further assumes that life on other planets would simply evolve like the Earth and the new species will gradually develop surroundings rich in metals just like human beings as the Sun has a grip over it.

Meanwhile, Christoper Conselice from the University of Nottingham has stated in a press release reading, “it takes five billion years for intelligent life to form on other planets”.

But how can we guess the definitive number of civilisations? Well, the concern rests upon several factors one of which happens to be how actively the planets impart radio signals to space via equipment like TVs, satellites.

Besides Tom Westby, the Assistant Professor of Engineering at the institution and the main author of the subject has eventually told, “The classic method for estimating the number of intelligent civilizations relies on making guesses of values relating to life, but opinions about such matters vary quite substantially.”

Shunning the light of supremacy

Lastly, how long can such a race survive on the go? The answer suggests, “If we find that intelligent life is common then this would reveal that our civilization could exist for much longer than a few hundred years.”

The ray of hope shines there!
