Roman Reigns praised Jey Uso on SmackDown, but the segment sparked tension with The Bloodline. WWE veteran Vince Russo believes it could turn Jey into a heel.

Roman Reigns Acknowledges Jey Uso, Ignites Bloodline Tensions

In the latest episode of WWE SmackDown, the tension between Jey Uso and Roman Reigns escalated as the Tribal Chief unexpectedly praised Jey.

This acknowledgment came as a surprise, given their recent strained relationship.

During the show, Jey crossed paths with his twin brother, Jimmy Uso, and Roman Reigns. Despite the praise, Jey made it clear that he had no interest in rejoining The Bloodline, a faction led by Reigns.

However, WWE veteran Vince Russo, speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling’s BroDown podcast, pointed out a flaw in the segment.

Russo argued that Jey’s decision not to assist Jimmy during a brutal attack by Solo Sikoa and his allies made him appear as if he was turning heel.

Russo believes that prolonging the storyline where Jey seems indifferent to his family’s struggles has damaged his babyface image.

The Bloodline Attacks Jimmy Uso, Jey Fails to Help

In a dramatic turn of events, Jimmy Uso was dragged out bruised and battered by The Bloodline, which now includes Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and Jacob Fatu.

Roman Reigns attempted to fend off the attackers but was ultimately overwhelmed by their numbers.

The segment raised questions about Jey Uso’s loyalty, as he did not step out to help his twin brother, Jimmy, or his cousin, Roman.

Vince Russo argued that blood ties should have driven Jey to defend his family. By staying in the back, Jey’s actions — or lack thereof — portrayed him as a heel in the eyes of the audience.

Future WWE Storylines: Reigns and Jey’s Trust at Stake

As WWE builds toward Survivor Series: WarGames 2024, Roman Reigns will likely work hard to win back Jey Uso’s trust. The potential reunion could also bring back Sami Zayn into the fold, forming a united front against Solo Sikoa’s faction.

Fans are eager to see how this storyline evolves, and whether Jey will rejoin The Bloodline or continue to resist Roman’s leadership.
