The ever so controversial Royal family has once again made their place in the headline and this time for one of Princess Diana’s comments that too took place years ago.
It was way back in 1995, she gave an interview which has been going around in recent times. She was asked on whether she thinks Prince Charles or Prince William would be fit as the next King of England. To which Princess Diana gave an answer that surprised everyone.
While the interview was given by her, William was 13-years-old only and he certainly was not ready to take on the huge responsibility.

Martin Bashir had asked her for the BBC1 Panorama interview (via People). “Do you think it would make more sense in the light of the marital difficulties that you and the Prince of Wales have had if the position of monarch passed directly to your son Prince William?”
Diana’s response made everyone surprised where she said, “Well, then you have to see that William‘s very young at the moment, so do you want a burden like that to be put on his shoulders at such an age? So I can’t answer that question.”

However, Martin was quick enough to rephrase the question and again asked if she would love to see Prince William to succeed the Queen rather than the current Prince of Wales when his age suits that responsibility. And Diana nodded as she wanted her husband to find peace of mind.
Notably, Queen Elizabeth has opened up about her support for Charles to be her successor and royal experts shared that it’s highly unlikely that he will fail to fulfil the responsibility and give it to his son.

Meanwhile, the Royal has been in the news ever since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has shared their decision to quit the Royal earlier this year. While they claimed that they want to give their Archie a normal life outside the media attention, many thought it’s Meghan who influenced harry to take up this decision.
