Coco Gauff, the teenage tennis prodigy, isn’t just a force to be reckoned with on the court. She’s also a master of delivering powerful messages that resonate with fans far and wide. Recently she talked about her TikTok comment that really motivated her.
Gauff’s Supportive Fan
The American intends to enjoy her Flushing “victory lap” after a string of dismal results. Defending champion Coco Gauff revealed on Friday that a loyal fan helped ease her anxiety prior to the U.S. Open. In the three-set thriller final against Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, which Gauff won to win the championship, she was at her peak performance when she came to New York last year, living up to years of high expectations.
“Somebody commented on my TikTok,” said Gauff, “It said, you’ve won literally and figuratively. Why stress yourself out over a victory lap?
“I was, like, that’s actually a good perspective. No one can take that from me so why stress myself over something that I already have,” said Gauff.
Gauff Bringing Positive Attitude in the Game
Gauff’s breakthrough at the U.S. Open brought some solace after she was thrust into the public eye at the age of 15 when she became the youngest person to ever qualify for Wimbledon in 2019. “I wasn’t going to do that; some people thought I was going to win (a major) at the age of 15 or 16. Gauff remarked, “I think it just helped prepare me for now.” “Now coming in, I’m going to enjoy it.” Although many reigning champions frequently claim to feel like they have a target on their back, Gauff claimed she enjoyed the attention.
“Next year, whether I win this or not, I’ll still have maybe a little bit more attention just because that just seems the way my life is going,” she said. “I can continue to use that platform to spread positivity
