Google made a recent announcement revealing plans to introduce new features to the desktop version of Chrome in the upcoming weeks. By leveraging advanced technologies such as “the latest Google AI and Gemini models,” the forthcoming updates aim to enhance your browsing experience by streamlining the search process, enabling you to effortlessly and promptly locate the information you need on the web.

Tab Compare

Chrome for desktop is expected to roll out a groundbreaking ‘Tab compare’ feature, which is designed to streamline the online shopping experience.

By leveraging AI technology, this feature will offer users a comprehensive snapshot of products spread across different tabs, enabling them to efficiently compare essential information such as specifications, features, ratings, and prices.

With this innovative tool at their disposal, users will be empowered to make well-informed purchasing decisions, ultimately enhancing their overall online shopping journey.

Search history using natural language

Google is introducing a new feature that allows users to view their browsing history in a more natural, conversational way using AI.

This feature will be optional and won’t include any browsing data from incognito mode. While Chrome’s history feature can be used to search for a page, it can be challenging to find information on a page that was opened a while ago. The new feature aims to improve user experience and efficiency.

Google Lens, the visual search tool, will be available on the desktop version of Chrome. Users can easily select, search, and ask questions about anything they see on the web without leaving their current tab.

To use Google Lens in Chrome, users can press the colorful camera icon on the address bar, click or drag the desired items, or use the three-dot menu.

Users can also refine their search using the multisearch feature, such as searching by color or brand, and ask follow-up questions.
