Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has refuted rumors suggesting Kevin De Bruyne is considering leaving the club. Amid ongoing speculation that the Belgian midfielder might transfer to Saudi Arabia, Guardiola clarified that these reports are incorrect. He emphasized that there is no truth to the claims linking De Bruyne with a move away from Manchester City. This statement aims to put to rest the recent rumors and affirm De Bruyne’s ongoing commitment to the club, despite the swirling speculation about a possible transfer to Saudi Arabia.

Pep Guardiola Talked About Kevin De Bruyne:

Kevin De Bruyne, with a contract lasting until 2025, mentioned last month that he hasn’t ruled out the possibility of a transfer. However, Guardiola believes that the squad will remain largely unchanged before the transfer window closes on August 30. Despite De Bruyne’s openness to a potential move, Guardiola is confident that no major changes will occur in the team’s lineup before the end of the current transfer period.

Before their opening U.S. tour match against Celtic, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola said, “ Kevin is not going. I am delighted with the squad for many years. I don’t know what will happen in the market, if someone leaves, we will talk about that. But 85-95% we [will] have the same squad. We’ve made an impact in the market [over the years] and every situation is different. I feel comfortable because the quality we have in the squad is difficult to replace.”

Pep Guardiola Also Talked About other Confirmed Players:

Manchester City recently signed Brazilian winger Sávio. Guardiola also confirmed that Kalvin Phillips, who was on loan at West Ham United, is now training with the first team. This move underscores City’s strategy of bolstering their squad with young talent while bringing back players who were previously loaned out. Guardiola’s updates suggest a calculated effort to build a strong and balanced team for the upcoming season.

He concluded, “[Sávio] can play on the wing, and when he is one-v-one, he is devastating. He is young and to bring in one or two players to keep things fresh, it is necessary but we cannot change six or seven. It is impossible and unsustainable. Many players want to come here but we didn’t get agreements from the clubs and when they ask a very high price we don’t do it.”

Manchester City will start their Premier League title defense with a match against Chelsea on August 18. This game will mark the beginning of City’s effort to retain their championship. Facing Chelsea early in the season will be a tough challenge as City aims to continue their strong performance and kick off the new Premier League season with a competitive edge.
