The back of the Olympic medal depicts Nike, the Greek goddess of victory, with the Panathenaic Stadium, Acropolis, and Eiffel Tower. The ribbon is designed to echo the Eiffel Tower’s latticework.

American skateboarder Nyjah Huston expressed his disappointment with the medal quality at the 2024 Paris Olympics, criticizing them for showing signs of wear and tear shortly after receiving them.
The U.S. skateboarder claimed the bronze medal in the men’s street finals during the first week of the 2024 Paris Olympics, but he’s already noticing signs of wear and tear on his medal.
Huston turned to social media to criticize the medal’s quality and highlight the damage his bronze medal has sustained in just a few days.
“Alright, so these Olympic medals look great when they are brand new,” Huston said on Instagram. “But after letting it sit on my skin with some sweat for a little bit and then letting my friends wear it over the weekend, they are apparently not as high quality as you would think.”
“I mean look at that thing, it’s looking rough. Even the front is starting to chip off a little.So I don’t know … Olympic medals, you gotta maybe step up the quality a little bit.”
He shared a close-up of the medal, which appeared rusty, with the caption, “Medal looking like it went to war and back.”
The bronze medal, earned with a score of 279.38, marks Huston’s first-ever Olympic medal. In contrast, his debut at the 2020 Tokyo Games ended with a disappointing seventh-place finish.

The famous skateboarder secured a podium finish behind Yuto Horigome and Jagger Eaton in the Olympics 2024 in Paris. At 29, Huston is regarded as one of the greatest skateboarders in history and ranks among the highest-paid in the sport.
Huston is a 12-time gold medalist in the X Games and a six-time gold medalist in the World Championships. Additionally, he has nine silvers and four bronzes across both competitions.
