Kazakhstan Claims First Medal of Paris 2024 with Bronze

The Paris Olympics 2024 started on a great note. Since the beginning, Paris Olympics has turned out to be an eventful one. Athletes from different parts of the world participated on the first day of the Olympics with all strength. Kazakhstan secured its first medal of the Paris 2024 Olympics by defeating Germany 17-5 in the bronze-medal match of the 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team event held in Chateauroux.

First Medal for Kazakhstan:

On July 27, Kazakhstan won the first medal by defeating Germany 17-5 in the bronze-medal match of the 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team event. The match, held in Chateauroux, saw Kazakhstan’s Alexandra Le and Islam Satpayev show impressive skill and composure right from the start.

Le and Satpayev took an early lead, winning the first round 21.4-20.7 to go up 2-0. Germany’s Anna Janssen and Maximilian Ulbrich fought hard, leveling the score at 3-3 and 4-4, but they never managed to take the lead. Le and Satpayev responded strongly, winning the next three rounds and extending their lead to 10-4.

Although Germany managed to tie the following round, it was not enough to prevent Kazakhstan’s win. The Kazakh team kept their focus and secured a decisive victory. Kazakhstan’s strong performance in the qualification round, where they finished third, set the stage for their successful medal run.

Satpayev’s Words:

Kazakhstan’s Alexandra Le and Islam Satpayev won the bronze medal, marking their country’s first shooting medal since 1996. This victory highlights a significant achievement for Kazakhstan in Olympic shooting events.

After the Win, Satpayev said, “I’m feeling perfect. This was the first (Olympic) competition for me, and I got third place, so it’s perfect.”

China won gold in the 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team event at Paris 2024, continuing their winning streak from Tokyo 2020. The world champion team, Sheng Lihao (19) and Huang Yuting (17), proved their top form by securing the first gold of the Paris Olympics.
