She stated that on August 26, 2024, Bewas was taken by force from Nasirabad, Balochistan. On August 26, 2024, Nadeem Bewas, a poet from Balochistan, vanished without cause from Nasirabad, Balochistan. His family is still unaware of his location. Human rights organizations need to be made aware of his unlawful kidnapping. Mahrang commented, “#EndEnforced Disappearances,” on the post.

Illegal arrests and abduction in Balochistan

Mahrang Baloch had earlier in the day uploaded images of a woman demanding justice while clutching the portraits of her brothers, whom she claims were forcibly arrested by Pakistani authorities. Mahrang Baloch also called for the release of Rasheed and Asif, the two journalists who had vanished without explanation.

Mahrang Baloch posted on August 29 on X, expressing his profound concerns about the disfigured bodies of victims of enforced disappearance that have been found in several parts of Balochistan. He described the finding as “deeply alarming.” She further claimed that individuals are kidnapped by the Pakistani government, detained for years, and then killed or their disfigured bodies thrown.Mahrang Baloch, who also organizes the Baloch Yakjehti Committee, expressed gratitude to the UN earlier this week for their stance on the forced disappearances of Baloch members.

Maharang’s appeal to human rights organizations

“The UN finally speaks up for Pakistan’s missing people. pleading with Pakistan to sign the Convention on Enforced Disappearances. One of the most important steps towards justice is the UN’s request that Pakistan address enforced disappearances. Balochstanis have waited far too long for the outside world to notice how bad things are in our country. We anticipate more pressure that is appropriate given the severity of the problem,” she said.

The report further stated that the committee had demanded that Islamabad look into and prosecute allegations of forced disappearances involving public officials, legislators, human rights advocates, and leaders of ethnic and ethno religious organizations. One of the biggest problems in Balochistan is the enforced disappearances of innocent Baloch people.

Human rights organizations, Baloch leaders, and activists have all questioned the idea that these disappearances are a form of collective retribution. They contend that such behavior not only has an impact on the individual but also seriously distresses their families.
