Netflix co-founder Reed Hastings went all his support for Vice President Kamala Harris, donating $7 million to a super PAC to run U.S President. On the other hand Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk denies to donate $45 million to PAC supporting Donald Trump.
Elon Musk confirmed the fake news
Elon Musk involvement in the PAC gained a huge attention following his endorsement of Trump after an attempt of assassination on former President during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania
Earlier this, it was reported that Elon Musk had pledged to donate $45 million per month to the super PAC supporting Donald Trump. In a recent statement Musk responded to the article with a meme labeled “FAKE GNUS” and denied the fact. He said “I never said I was donating $45M/month to Trump.”
“Now what I have done is that I have created a Pac or Super Pac or whatever you want to call it.It is called the America Pac.” he added
“It’s ridiculous. I am making some donations to America PAC, but at a much lower level and the key values of the Pac are supporting meritocracy & individual freedom. Republicans are mostly, but not entirely, on the side of merit & freedom” said Musk
Reed Hasting supporting Kamala Harris
Reed Hasting has become one of the largest donors to the Democratic Party in recent times and the news of donations comes soon after Hastings, alongside other major Democratic donors, called for President Joe Biden to withdraw from the race.
It is confirmed that it is the largest political donation by Hastings to a single candidate till now, $7 million donation by Hastings marks his first of the 2024 presidential election campaign.
“After the depressing debate, we are in the game again.” Hasting said.
Can Harris defeat Trump this time?
Musk has directed concerns about the impact on Tesla, if Trump wins the presidency. He said “There would be some impact, but I think it would be devastating for our competitors and would hurt Tesla slightly but long-term probably actually helps Tesla.”
Musk announced that Tesla’s second-quarter profits declined 45% from this time last year. Meanwhile, Trump’s Democratic electoral opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris, has raised over $100 million in campaign funds in the first two days of her presidential campaign following President Joe Biden’s exit from the race.
