As Donald Trump secures the presidency again, America Ferrera is reportedly planning a fresh start overseas. The “Ugly Betty” star intends to move to the United Kingdom, prioritising her children’s future amid rising political tension in the U.S.

Ferrera, married to Ryan Piers Williams and mother to two young children, seeks stability and opportunity abroad while maintaining a connection to her roots.

Sources close to Ferrera reveal that she feels “devastated” by Trump’s win over Democratic candidate Kamala Harris.

Despite her disappointment, Ferrera plans to keep a presence in Hollywood to support women and the Latina community, emphasising that she isn’t leaving the U.S. entirely.

The actress has been spotted exploring private schools in South West London, hinting at a new beginning across the pond. Her decision reflects a growing trend among high-profile Americans relocating to the UK over concerns about gun violence, women’s rights, and the political climate.

Celebrities Consider Relocating Amid Political Tensions

Ferrera’s planned move to the UK reflects broader concerns among Hollywood stars. Many entertainers have been vocal about their discontent over the election results and the social climate in the U.S. Barbra Streisand, for example, told Stephen Colbert she may struggle to “live in this country” with Trump as president.

Similarly, Sharon Stone revealed she is “considering a house in Italy,” expressing frustration over the divisive political atmosphere.

Other celebrities, like Cher, have shared similar sentiments. The singer previously admitted that Trump’s potential victory had once caused her severe anxiety. “If he gets in, who knows?

This time I will leave [the country],” she told the Guardian last year. Many stars, however, continue to balance their desire for change with their commitment to fans and their professional projects in the U.S.

Growing Number of Stars Choose the UK Over the U.S.

Ferrera is not alone in seeking opportunities in the UK. Oprah Winfrey, Beyoncé, and Bruce Springsteen are among those who supported Harris and shared concerns about Trump’s leadership.

Now, some may be contemplating life outside America. Many celebrities feel the U.S. political landscape has impacted fundamental rights, including gun control and abortion access. These issues have prompted celebrities to reconsider their options and, in some cases, explore the idea of living abroad.

This trend underscores a growing inclination among public figures to seek alternative environments for themselves and their families.

The UK has become a popular choice, offering familiar culture and proximity to Hollywood’s global influence. For stars like Ferrera, a move overseas represents not only personal growth but also a commitment to providing a better future for their children.
