China: A Decisive Enabler
NATO most recently called China a “ Decisive Enabler” of Russia’s war against Ukraine, also called biased and full of provocations.
NATO in one of its statements issued at a summit in Washington, called China an enabler of the war through its “ no-limit partnership” with Russia and huge support to Russian defense.
“ NATO hyping up China’s responsibility on the Ukraine issue is unreasonable and has sinister motives” a statement by Lin Jian, a Chinese diplomat, according to China, has a fair objective on the Ukraine issue.
Analysis of Case
It has been believed that China doesn’t have any military support for Russia or Ukraine in their ongoing war. However, there have been accusations from NATO that China has indirectly supported Russia by providing technologies like semiconductors and satellites, which has strongly supported Russia’s defense.
Jens Stoltenberg, a Secretary General in NATO, criticized China for its growing friendship with Russia, pointing out that the friendship has intensified the conflict.
China: Defence Against NATO
Lin Jian in its defense says the trade is based on the World Trade Organisation rules and calls it legal and reasonable.
“ China urges NATO to..stop interfering in China’s internal politics and smearing China’s image and not create chaos in the Asia-Pacific after creating turmoil in Europe,” Said Lin
China also pointed out the growing relationship of NATO with the Indo-Pacific region countries like Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and South Korea.
Conclusion
It is said that China and Russia have a significant relationship that plays a crucial role in geopolitics. They have a significant relationship and both are partners. For instance, Russia supplies oil and natural gas to China, which is very important for China’s energy sector, while China trades its defense items.
NATO pointed out the growing relationship of China with Russia calling it a decisive enabler as China refuses to support both Russia And Ukraine. However, China urges NATO to stop interfering with its internal matters.
