The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, is all set to make a rare public appearance on Sunday.

As per Kensington Palace, Princess will attend the Wimbledon Men’s final in London as she recovers after being diagnosed with cancer.

What is the Wimbledon Championship?

Wimbledon Championships, also known as tennis championships played annually in London at Wimbledon. It is one of the four annual “Grand Slam” tennis events held in late June and early July. It was first held in 1877 on one of the croquet lawns of England.  The four major tournaments are:  US, Australian and French Open in tensis, however amidst all four Wimbledon is the only one played in traditional grass courts while others are played on hard surfaces.

In 1884, Women’s Championship was introduced in Wimbledon Championship while Mixed doubles and women’s doubles was introduced in 1913.

Latest Update On Wimbledon Championship 

As per reports, Britain’s Princess Kate Middleton, will attend the final of the tournament on Sunday, and will present the winning trophy at men’s tennis, in her role as Patron of the All England Lawn Tennis And Croquet Club Since 2016.

“The Princess of Wales, Patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club will attend the Gentlemen’s Singles Final of The Championships, Wimbledon on Sunday 14th July,” Kensington Palace stated in a statement.

Her “ Second Appearance”

The Princess revealed on March 22, in one video statement that she has been diagnosed with Cancer  and is undergoing Chemotherapy. Although she didn’t reveal the exact details of the disease but simply said that it was found after her abdominal surgery.

Since then they have stopped making public appearances.

As per findings, her first appearance after being diagnosed with cancer, was when she attended King Charles lll’s annual birthday parade, last month with her father-in-law, husband Prince William, and their three children- Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Princes louis on the Buckingham Palace balcony for the customary photograph.

And this time at the Wimbledon Championship it will be her second official public appearance amidst ongoing Chemotherapy.

“ As anyone going through Chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days”  said by Princess in early June.

She also said that her treatment is ongoing and will be for a fee more months.
