Four days after reporting for work, an Arizona Wells Fargo employee was discovered deceased in her cubicle. Denise Prudhomme, 60, showed up at the business’s Tempe office on Priest Drive and Washington Street on Friday, August 16 at approximately seven in the morning local time, according to a police statement.
Dead body found at the work
“We have verified that Denise worked at Wells Fargo. There hasn’t been a scan in or out since Denise last scanned into the building on Friday, Aug. 16 at around 7am,” according to Tempe Police. On Tuesday, August 20, on-site security found Prudhomme’s body at a desk on the third floor of the office.
“The preliminary investigation did not show any obvious signs of foul play,” police stated. “We have no further information at this time as this is an on-going investigation.” The office of the county medical examiner will ascertain the cause of her death. Authorities were called to the area regarding a “subject down,” as stated by Arizona’s Family. Authorities, according to the publication, claimed there were no overt indications of foul activity. PEOPLE called Wells Fargo, but the company didn’t reply right away.
Wells Fargo response to the case
In a statement to Fox News Digital, Wells Fargo said that it was “deeply saddened by the loss of our colleague.” The statement went on, “Our thoughts are with her family and loved ones, and we are in contact to ensure they are well-supported during this difficult time,” according to the publication. “We are examining our internal protocols in the wake of this incident because we are dedicated to the health and safety of our employees. Any employees affected by this incident can get support from counselors,” the corporation stated in its conclusion.
Before informing staff members of Prudhomme’s passing, Wells Fargo told USA Today that it had spoken with her family. It also mentioned that Prudhomme had been seated in a “very underpopulated area” of the office. According to Arizona’s Family, the cause of death will now be determined by the Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s Office. An unidentified staff member told NBC affiliate KPNX that while some customers reported smelling a “foul odor,” they “passed it off as faulty plumbing.” The article also stated that although the Tempe location’s majority of staff members work remotely, the building is secured around-the-clock.
