During his appearance on the JAXXON Podcast, Maia revealed that the criminals staged a fake kidnapping of his wife to extort money from his family.
The scheme involved calling Maia’s father-in-law in the dead of night, pretending that Maia’s wife had been kidnapped and demanding a ransom.
The callers even threatened to harm her if their demands weren’t met. Maia recounted that the scammers were so convincing that they mentioned specific items, including the Rolex Daytona, which led to its loss.
Fortunately, Maia’s wife was unharmed, as she was safely at home during the incident.

The elaborate scam involved a call from individuals pretending to be kidnappers, who convinced Maia’s father-in-law that his daughter was in danger.
They used psychological manipulation, including threats and fabricated demands, to create a sense of urgency and fear.
