Sedgwick’s Account of 1992
Kyra Sedgwick and Tom Cruise shared the screen in the movie ‘Born on the fourth of July. In 1992, Kyra Sedgwick’s husband, Kevin Bacon was shooting ‘A few Good men’ with Tom Cruise, and they both were invited to Cruise’s home for a dinner party. Sedgwick shared that she was ‘very pregnant at that time was invited to his home along with many other famous faces of Hollywood, including Demi Moore and Bruce Willis.
The Panic Button Incident
Kyra Sedgwick shared with a tinge of laughter that at the party she was near the fireplace mantle and her eyes fell on a little button underneath the mantle. She grew curious about the function of the small red button and could not control the urge to press the button. Then she was waiting for something interesting to happen. But that never happened, or maybe a LOT happened.
The Consequence of No Consequence
After waiting for quite some time for something interesting to happen, she was puzzled when nothing happened. Sedgwick said that she grew a little nervous after the incident and tapped on Tom Cruise’s shoulder and interrupted him in the middle of a story. She asked him about the red button and also said that she clicked the button. Tom Cruise was startled and informed her that it was a panic button. Kyra Sedgwick later added that due to the pressing of the panic button, the cops arrived 5 minutes later and they had stopped for screening. The cops demanded to see Tom whether he is alright or not. Moreover, she said that there were almost five cops arrived to check the house.
After a burst of hearty laughter, Kyra Sedgwick very cheerfully added that she never got invited again for dinner parties.
