Keanu Reeves is one of the famous actors with whom everyone wants to work with. The actor has featured in back-to-back movies in three of his major franchises which have put John Wick: Chapter 4 in a confused position, according to Lance Reddick, Reeves’ co-star in John Wick.
John Wick 4 has already announced the release date and that is May 21, 2021. Lance Reddick who plays Continental Hotel concierge Charon in the John Wick films, gave an update to Comicbook regarding film’s progress.
“Last I heard, there wasn’t a script yet but that was a month ago. I know they’re working on it but part of the problem in terms of scheduling now is that Keanu signed on to do The Matrix 4 and he has the new Bill & Ted coming up. He has three franchises he’s juggling so I’m just not sure if he’s going to do The Matrix 4 or John Wick next,” he added.
On the other hand, the third instalments of the Bill & Ted franchise has already finished filming where Keanu Reeves is only be required to promote the film before it’s release on August 21, 2020. However, The Matrix 4 news which came a couple of months ago, had a surprise element as the production was looking to start in the early months of 2020. If this is to be believed, Reeves will be filming The Matrix 4 before John Wick 4.

Unlike John Wick 4, The Matrix 4 hasn’t announced the release date yet, although expectations say that maybe it will release in 2022. John Wick: Chapter 3 started filming in early May 2018 for its release in after one year, in May 2019. Although the release of John Wick: Chapter 4 depends upon a couple of factors – like if they can’t get Keanu Reeves or the rest of production together in time, the movie’s release date might get postponed.
