Do you know from where the name of the movie John Wick came upon to mystify the fandom? It wasn’t at all decided by the director! However, our Reeves propelled for such a name. Yes, it’s as simple as that.

The real mastermind

If you look back, the John Wick franchise didn’t derive its name from the lead character. While the movie was in the pipeline, its title was thought as Scorn, which defined an emeritus executioner deployed in a mission to avenge, thereby drawing upon perfection. But then the standalone star Keanu Reeves started calling the movie John Wick instead of Scorn. And with due course of time, the studio finally arrived at a decision to fix the official name of the project alluding to the actor’s conjecture.

A new rumor in the town: Are Keanu and Alexandra planning to have a baby?

What’s still missing in the puzzle:

In an interview with John Wick architect Derek Kolstad as well as while speaking to its screenwriter, Comicbook reported that John Wick: Chapter 4 yet demands a title like John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum where the choice will be passed on to director Chad Stahelski to come up with a final name.

Turning on the hotspot

Kolstad acknowledged the fact saying, “Marketing was like, ‘Dude, that’s four to five million dollars in free advertising so far, so it’s John Wick instead of Scorn.’ I can’t imagine it being Scorn now.” In fact, the promoted name did really well without charging for further publicity. So apt and yet a legacy!

John Wick’s last bloody scrape isn’t far away

Kolstad also revealed that the title modification did the best part undoubtedly as both the name of the films and characters happen to be an integral part of pop culture, reflecting on action movies in particular. At a time when most of the big screens are facing severe disruptions over the unprecedented pandemic, the screenwriter admitted that branding becomes far more significant at present as studios are in dire need to publicise their projects before releasing it ahead.
He concluded saying, “And yet, when you look at IP, when you look at a successful franchise, it becomes all the more important and all the more important reason to do it well.”

John Wick: Chapter 4 is all set to hit the theatres on May 27, 2022.
