Although the multicultural brood mostly opted to stay out of the spotlight following the six months old girl’s adoption in 2005, it’s been known that her birthplace happens to be Awasa, Ethiopia. At present, Zahara is in her15th year.

We don’t really know who the child’s biological mother is as various facts have come up to surpass the truth. While the American journalist Ann Curry interviewed the actress in Namibia 11 years back, Angelina revealed that her biological mother died of Aids. Later on 2017, an online report from Daily Mail alleged that they have interviewed Zahara’s birth guardian namely, Mentewab Dawit Lebiso who admitted that the only reason behind putting her daughter up for adoption stemmed from the sense of a lack of identity as she was conceived following a rape. In 2009, the Jolie-Pitt Foundation organised the Zahara Programme, owing to its name to their Ethiopian daughter, in order to provide treatment to drug-resistant tuberculosis in the East African country, Ethiopia. However, their contributions have successfully made its way to the present day in partnership with regional health authorities. And the story isn’t over as another Zahara Centre exists in the outskirts of Addis Ababa to care for children affected by HIV or Aids with a special focus for treating tuberculosis. Indeed, that’s how pride looks like in reality.

Zahara lent her voice to Meng Meng, the panda triplet in the movie Kung Fu Panda: 3, besides acting in an incognito role in Maleficent. Yes, she truly did!
