Manchester United Mattino have agreed to a €25 million offer to sell Scott McTominay to Napoli according to Italian outlet II. The Serie A club has been actively pursuing McTominay throughout the summer transfer window.
McTominay Agreed on a Four-Year Deal
Napoli didn’t want to accept the offer United made to sell McTominay at €30 million. Although initially the negotiations encountered a setback, eventually progress has been made.
As per aforementioned source the €25 million offer includes all the add-ons. The 27-year-old Scot McTominay has already agreed on a four-year deal with Napoli and at the time he is not a first-choice at United. Players such as Kobbie Mainoo, Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes, Mason Mount, and others are ranked higher than him in the pecking order.
Scott McTominay born on December 8, 1996 is a Scottish professional footballer who plays as a midfielder. He senior debut for the club in 2017 though Manchester United’s youth . Throughout his career, McTominay has been used in various midfield roles, demonstrating his ability to adapt to different tactical setups. For the Manchester United senior team he made 255 appearances, scoring 29 goals and providing eight assists
He concluded the 2023-24 season with 10 goals and three assists across 43 appearances. In the current campaign, he has featured in three matches, all as a substitute.
“There Was More Than One Mistake”
Erik ten Hag was unhappy when Manchester United lost by 2-1 in their latest Premier League game against Brighton & Hove Albion on August 24.
Manchester United secured a 1-0 victory against Fulham in their opening league match as Joshua Zirkzee scored a late goal. However, they struggled in their subsequent game against Brighton, resulting in their defeat.
“We didn’t stop the cross (from Simon Adingra). There were three players, right-footed players, who should have sent him down the line and not allowed the cross. We have to talk about how we act in that situation as a team. There was more than one mistake on that occasion and that had a big impact on the score,” Erik Ten Hag told the media
