Jay Cutler, the former NFL quarterback, was arrested on October 18, 2024, in Franklin, Tennessee, after allegedly rear-ending another vehicle while under the influence.
According to legal documents, Cutler attempted to flee the scene and offered the other driver $2,000 to avoid involving the authorities.
Witnesses reported Cutler’s unsteady demeanor when law enforcement arrived, noting he was “staggering” and had “bloodshot” eyes.
Upon questioning, Cutler initially denied consuming alcohol but later admitted to drinking “a little bit.” He refused to take a field sobriety test and was taken to a hospital for a blood sample.
Police found minimal damage to both vehicles, with the victim’s car having a small dent and Cutler’s vehicle showing no apparent damage. During a search of Cutler’s car, officers discovered a loaded Glock handgun in the center console and a rifle in the back seat.
