Meta Description: Get the scoop on EA’s exciting plans for the FC Pro 25 esports ecosystem, including an expanded FC Pro Open and new monthly cups, as early access begins.
As the highly anticipated EA SPORTS FC 25 enters its early access phase, game publisher EA Sports has unveiled its plans for the game’s competitive esports ecosystem. The FC Pro 25 season is set to kick off in October, with registration for the open circuit now available to the public.
Expanded Opportunities for Rising Talent
According to a press release, FC Pro 25 will provide more opportunities for aspiring players and veterans to earn a spot at the coveted FC Pro World Championship. This will be achieved through an expanded FC Pro Open programme and the introduction of new monthly FC Pro Open Cups.
The FC Pro Open programme will return with a total prize pool of $1 million (~£750,000). The season will commence with the FC Pro Open Ladder, running from October 1st to 7th. To participate, players must have reached Division 3 on Rivals, a game mode within EA SPORTS FC 25, and register their interest online.
Players who successfully navigate through the opening round will then compete in Regional Qualifiers and a Global Qualifier. The top 17 players from this process will join seven players who secured their spots last year, including PHzin, Vejrgang, Levi de Weerd, Emre Yilmaz, xcharif, Yuval, and Jafonso. This expansion brings the total number of FC Pro Open competitors to 24, four more than last year’s event.
The FC Pro World Championship
The FC Pro World Championship remains largely unchanged, with 32 players competing for a $1 million prize pool. However, this year, the top eight players from the FC Pro Open will automatically qualify for the event, alongside top players from the series’ FC Pro Leagues and Play-Ins.
Sam Turkbas, Senior Director of Esports at EA SPORTS, expressed his excitement about the upcoming season: “FC Pro is back! Our second season will continue to tell the exciting stories of the best FC players in the world vying for the World Championship while building on the positive momentum from last season. This year, we’re prioritising expanded opportunities for players to compete at the highest level, with new pathways to the FC Pro World Championship. We’re looking forward to delivering an even more dynamic and competitive experience to showcase the best talent in EA SPORTS FC and create memorable moments on the virtual pitch.”
