Asian esports event organiser VSPO has officially announced the launch of the Esports Asian Champions League (ACL), a new multi-title tournament aimed at elevating the esports scene across Asia. Set to become an annual event with a six-month-long season, the ACL aspires to be the most diverse and accessible esports competition in the region.
Leadership and Structure
The ACL will be managed by the newly established Asia Champions League Foundation, which will feature its own management team.
Jonny Wang and Xie Fan, Co-founders of VSPO, have taken on key leadership roles, with Wang serving as Chief Executive and Fan as President.
This strategic structure aims to ensure that the ACL operates efficiently and effectively, with a clear vision for its future.
The tournament’s inaugural season is expected to take place at XR-enabled gaming arenas throughout Asia, showcasing the latest in immersive gaming experiences.
The announcement was made by Dino Ying, Founder of VSPO, during a ceremony held at INS Park in Shanghai. The event attracted numerous industry stakeholders, including HRH Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Sultan, Vice Chairman of the Savvy Games Group, who will serve as the Honorary Chairman of the league
Game Titles and Future Vision
While the specific titles for the ACL have yet to be confirmed, VSPO has indicated that the tournament will launch with seven to ten games, potentially including popular titles like Street Fighter, League of Legends, and PUBG.
Additionally, VSPO envisions a future where the ACL’s stages are entirely digitally constructed, setting a benchmark for cloud-based, virtual, and immersive esports tournaments.
According to Dino Ying, “As esports gains recognition globally, the ACL marks our commitment to a future where international multi-title tournaments thrive.”
