The UK university esports body, National Student Esports (NSE), has renewed its collaboration with the Chinese game developer HoYoverse for the third consecutive year. This ongoing partnership is aimed at expanding the Genshin Impact community by hosting a range of student-focused events and activities across university campuses in the UK.
Expanding Genshin Impact’s Presence in UK Universities
The 2024/25 academic year will see a continuation of challenges, activities, and campus events related to Genshin Impact.
Through this partnership, university student societies will have the chance to organise Genshin Impact-themed events, supported by both NSE and HoYoverse.
Last year, students hosted over 20 on-campus events that included activities like cosplay competitions, quizzes, and speedrun boss battles, fostering community engagement and creativity.
Genshin Impact, developed by HoYoverse, has become a cornerstone of student-led gaming events at UK universities, thanks to this partnership.
The previous two years saw successful initiatives such as the ‘Marketplace Magic: Genshin Campus Celebration,’ which brought students together in London for a day of events and meet-ups with Genshin influencers.
For the upcoming academic year, the partnership aims to deliver more in-person and online events to further grow the Genshin Impact community.
The partnership also extends to empowering student-led societies to create and manage their own Genshin Impact events, giving them the resources and support needed to bring their visions to life.
This fosters a deeper connection between the game and its student fanbase while offering fun and engaging opportunities for students to express their creativity.
NSE’s Broader Impact on Esports
Founded in 2018, NSE plays a pivotal role in the UK’s university esports scene. In addition to working with HoYoverse, NSE has secured partnerships with other major gaming companies like Nintendo, Riot Games, and Ubisoft.
This winter, NSE is preparing for its seasonal tournaments, featuring games such as VALORANT, League of Legends, Overwatch 2, and Rocket League, among others.
NSE’s Managing Director, Alex Coulson, shared his excitement about the partnership’s renewal, saying, “We can’t wait to see more of the students’ passion and creativity in their on-campus events this academic year.”
