MOONTON Games has unveiled exciting details for the upcoming M6 World Championship, the grand finale of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang’s competitive season, set to take place in Malaysia. Alongside the draw show for initial match-ups, the developer announced a carnival event and revealed that the tournament has received an official endorsement from Malaysia’s Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, YB Adam Adli.
The carnival, featuring family-friendly booths and activities, will run from December 13-15 at Kuala Lumpur’s Axiata Arena, aligning with the M6 Grand Final weekend. The event highlights Malaysia’s investment in esports, showcasing the country’s burgeoning gaming ecosystem and drawing anticipation from fans worldwide.
Malaysian Government Gives M6 World Championship Boost, Also Supports Local Esports Industry
Malaysia’s Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports YB Adam Adli will back the M6 World Championship, further pushing the country to commit more to this growing esports sector. This is as the government announced a budget for the development of esports that amounts to MYR 20 million (~£3.5 million). Malaysia now sets its self up for becoming a global destination in esports.
The Championship of M6 would look to boost the professional gaming ecosystem of Malaysia. It would also provide opportunities for the masses for career advancements in working with a gaming setup or managing an event.
YB Adam Adli discussed the growth of esports in Malaysia, noting that since 2020, Malaysia’s gaming industry has enjoyed an annual growth rate of 8.9%.
The growing industry now engages over half of the Malaysian population and shows a high interest for esports across the country. For instance, Soloz is a national ex-Mobile Legends player who moved into content creation and co-owns Team Vamos. Such career opportunities within the industry inspire Malaysians to create more diverse roles in esports.

That’s what the M6 World Championship in Malaysia promised – great competition, but also entertainment for the fans through its free-entry carnival event at Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur from December 13th to 15th.
