The league says the decision to bring a Major to Madrid is proof of commitment to our European fan base.

“We are thrilled to kick off the year with an event that celebrates the world and the energy of competitive Call of Duty.” Teams will also compete for CDL Points, which guide seeding of the Major and postseasons, as the season moves forward.

New Minor Tournaments Add Spice to Mid-Season CDL Madness

In the 2025 season, new minor tournaments offer a more dramatic competitive calendar. The 12-team single-elimination events provide a shot at $20,000 in prize money and presents the teams with a crucial gap of CDL Points.

“New chances for teams to fight for their spot on the rankings,” the league said. “Each and every match has all-high stakes.”.

The new format brings in more frequent matches for the supporters and another chance for underdogs to upwardly mobilize.

“We are adding more layers to the competition, with both financial incentives and points that impact overall standings,” CDL representatives said. This is as expected to keep fan interest up throughout the season.
