It hosted the Brawl Stars World Finals 2024 at the first-ever SuperFest with a just under 1.1 million viewers that broke every record viewership. The tournament is the most-watched Brawl Stars esports event ever, which surpassed all other records.
The venue for the competition will be the Helsinki Exhibition and Convention Center of Finland, besides hosting Brawl Stars, the Clash of Clans World Championship Finals 2024 and the Clash Royale League 2024: World Finals will also take place.
Record-breaking viewership
An esports data platform, Esports Charts, says that Brawl Stars World Finals had an average viewership of 636,059, and, as it was said, their peak, near 1.1 million.
What is more, the event surpassed what the former ESL-arranged World Finals achieved one year ago; they could only do 273,194 with the highest, and in total averaged just 164,232 viewers.
The overall peak in viewers indicates how fast the popularity in Brawl Stars esports grew, not to mention how effectively it was done in the promotional process.
The viewership for the 2024 tournament has also beaten a record for the largest viewership at 395,000 people who watched, which the World Finals back in 2022 had previously set.
Such viewership numbers may be an indicator of great interest and involvement within the Brawl Stars community due to the flourishing competitive scene that is getting bigger than ever.
Event Highlights and Results
Italian esports team HMBLE took the first place at the tournament by defeating Crazy Raccoon from Japan. This won HMBLE 40% of the whole $1 million prize money.
Though Crazy Raccoon failed to take victory, they got the hearts of the viewers and achieved 3.2 million hours watched. HMBLE is behind with 2.1 million hours watched. Semi-finalists SK Gaming, ranked in third position by 2 million hours watched.
It had to be the English-language as this attracted more viewers than the others, peaking to 456,450; secondly, the Spanish language streams reached 320,854. Other language streams include French with 84,566, Italian with 80,282, and Russian 48,924.
The majority of the event’s streams happened to be on Twitch: it peaked at 905,330 while YouTube’s reached 259,614. The success of the streams clearly points out a very diversely global audience which engages with the Brawl Stars esports.
