Adam Apicella, a prominent figure in the esports industry, has officially joined ESL FACEIT Group as the Senior Vice President of Esports for North America. With over two decades of experience in the field, including co-founding Esports Engine, Apicella brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his new role. His appointment comes at a pivotal time for ESL FACEIT Group, which aims to strengthen its presence in the North American esports landscape.

A New Chapter for Adam Apicella

In his announcement, Apicella expressed excitement about re-entering the esports space with ESL FACEIT Group. “After 20+ years as a peer, I’m thrilled to join this incredible team,” he stated. His transition from Esports Engine to ESL FACEIT Group marks a significant step in his career and reflects his commitment to advancing the esports community.

Apicella’s primary focus will be on enhancing competitive gaming experiences in North America. He aims to foster relationships with stakeholders and develop innovative formats that cater to both players and fans. “I’m excited to get back to building opportunities for communities, players, and our publishing partners,” he emphasized.

Building on Previous Successes

Having previously co-founded Esports Engine, Apicella is well-versed in the intricacies of organizing esports events and managing competitions. His experience will be invaluable as he takes the reins of the remaining Esports Engine team in North America. “I look forward to leveraging our past successes while exploring new avenues for growth,” he noted.

In order to become the official operating partner of the Esports World Cup, ESL FACEIT Group has signed a multi-year agreement with the Esports World Cup Foundation. In order to expand its reach throughout the MENA area, the firm has also established a broadcast hub in Riyadh and joined the Saudi Arabian entertainment megaproject Qiddiya City.

The Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) hosted the 2024 ESIC Global Esports Summit earlier this month, with ESL FACEIT Group serving as the presenting partner. The purpose of the event is to bring together professionals from the industry from all around the world.

Along with adding new partnerships, EFG has extended its current agreement with DHL Logistics and worked with a number of Unilever brands and hardware firms, including Logitech.
