Disney World Unveils New Attractions for ‘Avatar,’ ‘Indiana Jones,’ ‘Encanto,’ and ‘Monsters, Inc.’

On Saturday, at the D23 fan event, Disney world revealed several new attractions for its theme parks, aiming to boost revenue from its successful parks and cruise ship division. A new ‘Avatar’ experience will be added to Disney California Adventure, inspired by “Avatar: The Way of Water.” Additionally, to mark Disneyland’s 70th anniversary next year, the company will debut a show featuring an audio-animatronic figure of Walt Disney.

New Attractions Announced for Disney Parks

In the D23 event Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro announced that we’re going to share with you tonight is in active development and with this Disney world announced several new attractions.

In Disney’s Animal Kingdom, two new attractions will be added as part of the Tropical Americas expansion, including an Indiana Jones adventure through a Mayan temple and an Encanto-themed experience with Antonio’s magical gift. The expansion is set to open in 2027.

During the event Actor Billy Crystal revealed a new “Monsters, Inc.” area at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, featuring a roller coaster that mimics the door vault from the film. Additionally, the Magic Kingdom will see a new “Cars” area with two attractions, including an off-road thrill ride, starting construction early next year. Allegedly, these updates are part of Disney’s $60 billion investment plan to enhance its parks and expand its cruise line over the next decade.

Walt Disney Tribute Show to Celebrate Disneyland’s 70th

Disney world has officially revealed the festivities for Disneyland’s 70th anniversary during D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. John Stamos has revealed that Disneyland Resort will mark its 70th anniversary in 2025, with Disneyland Park originally opening on July 17, 1955. The event also unveiled the official logo for the anniversary celebration. Additionally, it was confirmed that the Paint the Night Parade will be making a comeback to Disneyland Park. This parade first appeared in 2015 for the park’s 60th anniversary, was last held at Disney California Adventure in 2018, and had a different version at Hong Kong Disneyland from 2014 to 2020.

Disneyland officials have yet to provide specifics about the 70th anniversary celebration. However, the early cast member kickoff indicates that the 70th anniversary will likely be a major event, comparable to the extensive 50th and 60th anniversary celebrations, which lasted over a year each.Disneyland’s 70th anniversary could resemble Disney’s 100th anniversary celebration, which marked the company’s centennial in 2023. The 70th anniversary is often referred to as a platinum anniversary, echoing the platinum theme that was prominent during Disney100. In short, Disney’s 70th anniversary celebration is going to be a treat to the eyes of all the spectators and with the advent of the 70th anniversary fans will get to see a totally new look of disney.
