Disney+ confirmed the revival of Phineas & Ferb with 40 new episodes. Dan Povenmire shared a video celebrating the completion of the first episode. Fans are excited for the return after 8 years!

The Original Creators Return

The revival comes with a sense of nostalgia as Dan Povenmire and Jeff Marsh are set to continue their involvement in the series. 

Povenmire, who shared an emotional reaction after watching the first episode, described the revival as an opportunity to introduce the show to a new generation while staying true to its original charm. 

The show will pick up where it left off, set in the summer following the events of the original series.

Povenmire mentioned that much of the original crew is returning, ensuring that the feel of the show remains the same.

According to Povenmire, the idea for the revival emerged when Disney+ noticed a surge in viewership during the pandemic.

Many fans revisited Phineas & Ferb as a comfort show, pushing it into the platform’s top five most-watched series.

What to Expect in the New Seasons

Fans can expect the same adventurous spirit and witty humour that made the original show a success. 

The revival will continue to follow Phineas and Ferb’s extravagant summer projects, often involving large-scale, impossible inventions. 

Meanwhile, their pet platypus, Perry, will continue his secret life as a secret agent battling the bumbling villain, Dr. Doofenshmirtz.

While the revival will maintain the original format, Povenmire teased seven standout episodes that fans are particularly going to enjoy. 

The show’s focus will remain on the fun, dynamic adventures of the brothers and their interactions with their sister Candace, who is still determined to expose their antics to their mother.
