The CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, Elon Musk has already been in the limelight for his controversial words regarding coronavirus. The global pandemic novel coronavirus has brought the world into a standstill. And this time again the billionaire is in the news for being tweeting about the current lockdown and asked for an end to it as well to his 33.3 million followers.

He tweeted: “FREE AMERICA NOW” which somehow echoed President Donald Trump’s “LIBERATE” tweets from earlier this month too.

Musk’s tweets got criticized while one Twitter user shared his March 19 prediction where he said that the US would see “probably close to zero new cases” by the end of April (the US hit 1 million cases on Tuesday already). Others also supported his messaging where one suggested he was fighting “government tyranny” too.

Criticized by the Twitteratti?

After his tweet, one commenter replied: “The scariest thing about this pandemic is not the virus itself, it’s seeing American so easily bow down & give up their blood-bought freedom to corrupt politicians who promise them safety.”

To which Musk also responded by writing, “True.”

However, many states are currently on the verge of ending their lockdowns, though some are still hesitant than others to re-open non-essential businesses due to the fear of getting affected in the global pandemic novel coronavirus. Moreover, states are also at different stages of reopening because of the different conditions of the COVID-19.

On the other hand, many social media users took to Twitter and criticized Musk for his tweets as well. However, just before the lockdown in March, Musk tweeted that “the coronavirus panic is dumb” and later that month, he said that his companies would make ventilators for coronavirus patients, as hospitals didn’t have enough. He also said that Tesla has sent more than 1,000 ventilators to 50 hospitals across the US as well.
