Megyn Kelly hasn’t done a new gig playing herself in a film about Roger Ailes’ downfall at Fox News, but viewers of the new trailer for Bombshell might be thinking otherwise.

Fans Reaction

Charlize Theron was seen playing the former Fox anchor in the clip, which has a tense elevator ride with characters played by Nicole Kidman and Margot Robbie. However, Fans have found Theron’s resemblance to Kelly and the mimicry of her facial expressions are uncanny, according to the USA Today reports.

Movie Details

“Charlize looks more like Megyn Kelly than Megyn Kelly does,” tweeted one fan. The movie, however, titled Fair and Balanced, based at the sexual harassment allegations that brought down the former Fox CEO, according to the reports of People.

Ailes, who died in 2017, was accused of sexual harassment by Fox employees that included Kelly and Gretchen Carlson. The role is played by Kidman. Robbie plays a fictional producer, whereas Ailes is played by John Lithgow and the character of Rupert Murdoch is played by Malcolm McDowell.

However, Theron recently shared playing Kelly gave her a new understanding of the anchor. She left Fox in early 2017 and parted ways with NBC early this year as well, according to the reports of Guardian.

“I didn’t know how complicated her situation was and I think for a lot of people, they didn’t understand why she didn’t just speak up,” Theron shared. “She was in a complicated place and as a human being, I have empathy for that. I don’t think a lot of people truly understood that.”
