Whoopi Goldberg Reveals She’d Leave The View if She Had Enough Money

Whoopi Goldberg, the longest-running co-host on The View, shared her frustrations with the working-class financial pressures many people face. On a recent episode, she admitted she would leave the show if she didn’t need the income.

 “If I had all the money in the world, I would not be here,” Goldberg confessed, noting the economic strain impacting many, including herself.During a Hot Topic segment surrounding Donald Trump’s second term as president, the 69-year-old, whose net worth is estimated to be $60 million, compared her struggles to those of the working class.

 Goldberg’s comments resonated with viewers who feel similar economic struggles despite their efforts to make ends meet. The Sister Act star added that her commitment to supporting her family motivates her continued presence on the show.

Goldberg has co-hosted The View since 2007, often bringing humor and perspective to the table. Her recent statement reflects a common sentiment among the working class, whose economic pressures persist despite apparent wealth.

Goldberg’s Criticism of Grocery Store Owners Stirs Controversy

Goldberg’s comments also touched on grocery prices, which have been a significant burden for many families. She controversially claimed that high prices result from what she described as “pigs” controlling grocery store chains. 

This remark drew criticism from the National Grocers Association (NGA), representing over 21,000 stores nationwide.The NGA responded with a letter to The View’s executive producer, expressing disappointment with Goldberg’s comments.

 According to NGA CEO Greg Ferrara, such statements “risk further harm to frontline workers” and do not fairly represent the industry’s challenges. Ferrara emphasised that many stores face high operational costs, countering the notion that grocers are intentionally “gouging” customers.

While Goldberg has yet to address the backlash directly, her remarks reflect concerns over corporate profits as Americans grapple with inflation.
