Professional surfer Bethany Hamilton has shared the heartbreaking news of her 3-year-old nephew Andrew’s tragic death due to a drowning accident. On October 19, she took to Instagram to confirm the loss, stating, “The Lord has received my sweet nephew Andrew into his beautiful care.” She added, “While my family and I will miss him dearly, we trust that his joy is full with Jesus.”
The drowning incident took place earlier in October in Hawaii, where Andrew was quickly taken to a local hospital. Unfortunately, despite the medical team’s best efforts, he did not survive. Hamilton conveyed her profound sorrow while also emphasizing her family’s faith during this challenging time.
Family Shares Heartfelt Tributes and Reflections on Faith
In her tribute, Hamilton shared a prayer written by her brother Timothy, who is Andrew’s father. This prayer showed the family’s belief in God’s plan. She wrote, “Faith means trusting that God’s plan for our life is better than what we can imagine.” The family’s strong faith has been very important to them as they deal with the loss of young Andrew.
Timothy also posted a message on Instagram, saying, “Andrew is now seeing Jesus face to face. He understands Jesus completely, just as Jesus always knew and loved him.” Even though the family is very sad, they find comfort in knowing that Andrew is now at peace with God.
Bethany Hamilton Honors Nephew While Supporting Her Family
The handlers and managers of the professional surfer Bethany Hamilton have shown that nothing is impossible if you have spilled faith and passion. The 13-year old lost her arm because of a shark attack, but thanks to her willpower made a glory out of this tragedy. Hamilto has always been very vocal about her prayers and encouraged others to do the same for the health of her beloved nephew who was injured, as well as providing regular updates about Andrew’s stay in the hospital. ‘Andrew is and was loved so well,’ Hamilton opined about from the rest of him, how the people surrounding hin held him.
She is the mother fort though Timothy Hamilton’s family is more of a concern at this challenging period. Andrew’s parents, five siblings and large supportive family members who have started to support one another are his survivors.
