Tori Spelling Reflects on Shannen Doherty’s Inspiration as She Joins Dancing with the Stars Season 33
Tori Spelling is ready to take on the ballroom in Dancing with the Stars season 33, but the journey hasn’t been easy for her. After the passing of her Beverly Hills, 90210 co-star Shannen Doherty in July, Spelling admits that stepping into the spotlight comes with mixed emotions. Reflecting on Doherty’s influence, Spelling shared how her late friend’s commitment to life and the show inspired her to embrace the challenge.
Speaking with PEOPLE, Spelling, 51, opened up about the difficulties she faces, saying, “It’s definitely a hard time with all the excitement of the show and having lost Shan so recently. But I remember she loved doing it and was totally in it.” Doherty had competed in season 10 of Dancing with the Stars, leaving a lasting impact on Spelling. “She inspired me that when you commit, you commit. This season, she’s encouraged me to turn my power on,” Spelling added.
Support from Fellow 90210 Cast Members
Spelling also received encouragement from her 90210 co-star Brian Austin Green, who competed on season 30 of the show.
Green reassured her that joining the competition was the right choice, saying, “You will be amazing.
You need to do this.” His words gave her the final push to step onto the dance floor.
Adding to her support system, Sharna Burgess, Green’s fiancée and a former DWTS pro, knew from the start that Spelling’s partner, Pasha Pashkov, would be a perfect match for her.
A Star-Studded Season Ahead
Season 33 of Dancing with the Stars features a star-studded cast, including Phaedra Parks, Eric Roberts, and Dwight Howard, among others.
With Spelling’s emotional connection and determination to give her all, this season promises to be both competitive and heartfelt.
