Mahomes’ 23-yard pass to Travis Kelce, the pop star’s boyfriend, made the quarterback the Kansas City Chiefs’ all-time passing yard leader.
Taylor Swift’s Celebration
During Thursday, Sept. 5, the NFL season began. Taylor Swift, beaming with pleasure, watched boyfriend Travis Kelce. She even hugged his mother, Donna, when the great quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs assisted quarterback Patrick Mahomes in setting a new franchise record. In the second quarter, with the score at 10-7, Mahomes ducked under pressure to find Kelce for a deep 23-yard pass.
No. 87 caught the ball, and Swift got up to give Donna a hug. The pop queen kept clapping and briefly put her palm on the plexiglass of the room before grinning broadly when the tight end pointed at her.
With 291 yards on 20 of 28 plays to close out the game on Thursday night, Mahomes finished with 28,715 career yards. Fortunately for Swift, the final score of Chiefs 27–20 was cause for celebration.
Taylor Swift Being The Supportive Girlfriend
Swift was captured on camera riding a golf cart inside Arrowhead Stadium, where she waved to the crowd and cheered for her boyfriend beside his parents, Ed and Donna Kelce. Swift and Ed could be seen giggling during the NBC broadcast while Travis warmed up on the field below. The singer could also be seen giving fans in the area a thumbs up.
Swift wore a corset denim Versace crop top, jean shorts, and red thigh-high Giuseppe Zanotti boots for her game day ensemble. She and her beau were then seen leaving the Missouri stadium holding hands.
The singer was previously supported by the Chief tight end on tour, and he has attended multiple of her shows in the last two months. He even went onstage with her when she performed at London’s Wembley Stadium on June 23. The musician “writes plays for me,” he said recently on the Rich Eisen Show, adding, “We’ll see if they can make it to Coach [Andy] Reid’s office.” This shows how supportive she is of his work.
“She had just been so open to learning the game, she didn’t know much about the rules or anything … I think she was just curious about the profession,” he continued. “I know none of the plays have gotten to Coach Reid yet, but if they ever do I’ll make sure everyone knows it was her creation.”
