Sabrina Carpenter’s Admiration for Taylor Swift

Sabrina Carpenter recently expressed her admiration for Taylor Swift during an interview with CBS Sunday Morning. The 25-year-old musician, who was an opener on a segment of Swift’s Eras Tour, praised Swift’s presence and demeanour. “You just watch her, like, walk in a room and it’s very easy to understand that she’s so composed, she’s graceful, she’s gracious,” Carpenter shared. Her remarks highlight the impact Swift has on those around her, showcasing her strong character and poise.

In a cover story for Variety in August 2024, Carpenter described her evolving friendship with the 14-time Grammy winner, emphasizing the bond they formed during their time together on tour. Carpenter called Swift a “rock star,” reflecting on a record store’s amusing decision to classify Swift’s album The Tortured Poets Department in the “rock” section. “She’s just such a gangster with all of it,” Carpenter stated. “No matter what people are saying, everything that I’ve ever seen her tackle, she’s done so with grace.”

Carpenter also opened up about the support Swift has provided her as she navigates fame. “I wouldn’t say it’s, like, a verbal thing as much as just, like, she’s very supportive of me and knows who I am as a person and is very supportive of that. So I’m grateful for that,” Carpenter explained. This statement reflects the deep understanding and encouragement that has grown between the two artists.

In June, Carpenter addressed her career trajectory in an interview with Rolling Stone, noting that she could never compare herself to Swift. “I hold her to such a different echelon,” she remarked. “I could never compare my life, my career, my trajectory to anything close to what she’s done.” The friendship and mentorship Carpenter experiences from Swift seem to be a source of inspiration, allowing her to appreciate her journey without the pressure of comparison.
