Ryan Reynolds, known for his sharp wit and comedic timing, has sparked a lighthearted online buzz with a playful reference to a non-existent lawsuit from pop star Taylor Swift.

Deadpool’s Purr-fectly Timed Cameo

During a recent interview with People magazine, Reynolds, who reprises his role as Deadpool in the highly anticipated “Deadpool and Wolverine,” jokingly mentioned a legal battle with Swift concerning her beloved cats, Meredith and Olivia.

Apparently, in the 2018 film “Deadpool and Wolverine” (a fictional movie title used for comedic effect), Deadpool sported a T-shirt featuring images of Swift’s cats. When asked if he sought permission for the feline fashion statement, Reynolds quipped, “No, I was sued. I lost everything in that one.”

The actor continued his playful charade, elaborating on the (fictional) legal team’s might: “And getting sued by a friend is tough to swallow. Also, she has just a lot of very, very powerful lawyers. I found out later those are just the paralegals. The real lawyers didn’t even bother with it.”

A Shared Love for Music (and Avoiding Lawsuits)

Despite the comedic legal drama, Reynolds assured fans that his relationship with Swift is nothing but friendly. He even attended one of her concerts in Madrid earlier this year with his wife, Blake Lively, and their daughters. Social media posts captured the Reynolds family enjoying Swift’s performance, further solidifying the absence of any real animosity.

In fact, Reynolds has previously expressed his admiration for Swift, calling her a “genius” and highlighting his family’s love for her music, particularly her album “Midnights.”

Deadpool and Wolverine Slash Their Way to Theaters

While the “lawsuit” is undoubtedly a comedic invention, the excitement surrounding “Deadpool and Wolverine” is very real. The film, featuring the dynamic duo of Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, is set to premiere in theaters on July 26th.

Whether the movie features a feline fashion moment or not remains to be seen, but one thing’s for sure: audiences can expect plenty of laughs, action, and Reynolds’ signature brand of humor when “Deadpool and Wolverine” claws its way onto the big screen.
