Rihanna has officially taken over as the face of Dior’s iconic J’Adore fragrance, stepping into the role previously held by Charlize Theron. The singer’s debut in this prestigious position was marked by a breathtaking campaign filmed at the Palace of Versailles, directed by renowned filmmaker Steven Klein.

In the campaign, Rihanna embodies the essence of Dior’s J’Adore in a visually stunning narrative that celebrates both her status as a global pop icon and the timeless allure of the fragrance. The short film features Rihanna in a powerful transformation sequence, where she evolves from a stylish figure in Dior’s Fall/Winter 2023 collection to a golden goddess adorned in a shimmering corseted gown. This transformation symbolises the meeting of Rihanna’s modern femininity with the classic elegance of J’Adore.

A Historic Partnership

Rihanna’s collaboration with Dior marks a significant moment for the brand.

Replacing Charlize Theron, who had been the face of J’Adore since 2004, Rihanna brings a fresh energy and a new chapter to the fragrance.

Dior, owned by luxury goods giant LVMH, praised Rihanna for embodying the strength, independence, and creativity that resonate with the J’Adore woman. 

According to Véronique Courtois, CEO of Parfums Christian Dior, Rihanna’s “golden dream” is set to be as unique and captivating as the fragrance itself.

The Campaign’s Cinematic Excellence

Filmed at the historic Palace of Versailles, the campaign’s setting underscores the opulence and grandeur associated with Dior. 

The film’s narrative, described as a “metamorphosis and a coronation,” is underscored by Rihanna’s 2016 hit song “Love on the Brain.”

As Rihanna walks through the palace’s gilded hallways, she transitions from modern chic to a vision of golden elegance, reflecting the luxurious transformation J’Adore promises its wearers. 

The campaign culminates with Rihanna walking on water, embodying the tagline, “Your dreams, make them real,” emphasising the perfume’s power to make every woman feel extraordinary.
