Drew and Jonathan Scott, better known as the Property Brothers, have declared November 1 as the official start of Christmas. Drew says, “The moment Halloween is done, I flick a switch and all my lights turn to Christmas.”
His festive spirit lights up both his home and social media, where he shared a Reel showcasing his intricate Christmas setup.

Jonathan agrees, adding that he already has his tree and indoor lights up.
“I don’t care what anybody else does. I’m going to make sure I encourage joy and excitement.” He shares his festive enthusiasm with fiancée Zooey Deschanel and her two kids, Elsie, 9, and Charlie, 7.
The brothers believe in embracing the holiday spirit fully. Jonathan says critics “seem to worry too much,” while Drew emphasises spreading happiness with creative decorations.
Festive Traditions Bring Joy to Family and Fans
For Drew, family plays a major role in his holiday decorating. Sharing two kids, Parker, 2, and Piper, 5 months, with wife Linda Phan, he creates displays inspired by classic Christmas themes. “I just finished the design for our Christmas claymation theme based on Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” he explains.
Jonathan loves seeing his stepchildren’s reactions to the decorations. “I love seeing the kids’ faces light up. Anything that makes them smile is worth it.” He notes that creating these moments is what makes the season magical.
However, they keep Thanksgiving traditions intact. While Drew starts Christmas inside early, Jonathan waits until after Thanksgiving to transition outdoor decorations. “We go all out with Thanksgiving decorating first,” he shares.
The Scotts’ Message: Celebrate However You Want
Jonathan encourages everyone to celebrate at their own pace. “People can express themselves however they want to. If it brings joy, go for it.” His family-focused approach shows how celebrations can bond loved ones.
Drew, meanwhile, says his goal is to spread joy through creativity. “I love designing displays that bring happiness to others,” he explains. This year, his claymation-inspired decorations and synchronised lights are bound to wow fans.
Both brothers agree that early decorating can bring extended joy. “Christmas is a season of happiness,” Jonathan says. “Why wait when you can enjoy it longer?” Their fans certainly seem to agree, as their festive posts garner overwhelming support.
