Matthew Modine, who played the character Dr. Martin Brenner (also known as ‘Papa’) in Stranger Things, took on a new role as the officiant for Brown and Bongiovi’s wedding. His involvement added a nostalgic touch to the ceremony, highlighting the bond formed during their time on the show.
On Wednesday, October 2, the groom posted a picture of the 65-year-old actor and filmmaker on his Instagram page, showing him presiding at the wedding of Millie Bobby Brown, who he co starred on Stranger Things, and her spouse, Jake Bongiovi.
In the picture, Modine, who costarred with Brown, 20, as Dr. Martin Brenner, often known as “Papa,” in the popular Netflix series, wore a black jacket on top of a white shirt and black slacks for the event. At the May wedding, Modine grinned as Bongiovi, 22, repeated his vows to his bride while standing proudly beneath the flowery arch.
“Amazing. Who’s the old guy with a beard?? ❤️,” Modine joked in Bongiovi’s comment section afterward.
Stunning Wedding Details
Brown looked radiant in a lace gown designed by Galia Lahav, while Bongiovi sported a classic Tom Ford suit. The couple’s wedding was decorated with elegant floral arrangements that created a romantic atmosphere for their vows.
Following the wedding, both Brown and Bongiovi shared heartfelt posts on Instagram, expressing their love for one another. Their followers quickly flooded social media with congratulatory messages and admiration for the couple’s enchanting photos.
Before Bongiovi appeared to be getting ready in a black and white photo, the two were also seen kissing.
The pleased spouse continued by adding a picture of himself in the middle of Robert Brown, the father of Brown, and his father Jon Bon Jovi. “Your husband, forever and always,” Bongiovi captioned the photo. Brown also uploaded a carousel of wedding images. She shared pictures of the couple first, then finished the post with a lone image of herself blowing bubble gum while sporting a stylish silk minidress. Her caption said, “Your wife, forever and always.”
