Mariah Carey recently enjoyed a heartwarming trip to Rio de Janeiro with her twins, Moroccan and Monroe, where they visited the iconic Christ the Redeemer statue. The pop diva shared glimpses of their adventure on social media, showcasing not only the breathtaking views but also the special moments spent with her children. This trip highlights Carey’s commitment to creating lasting memories with her family while exploring the world together.

A Family Adventure in Rio

Carey’s visit to Brazil was filled with excitement as she explored the vibrant culture and stunning landscapes of Rio de Janeiro. The trip served as an opportunity for her twins to experience new sights and sounds, fostering a sense of adventure and curiosity.

The 55-year-old singer-songwriter shared a picture of herself and her 13-year-old twins, Monroe and Moroccan, visiting the Christ the Redeemer statue while they were in the Brazilian city on Saturday, September 21. “So grateful to finally visit Cristo Redentor while here in Rio with Roc and Roe!” Carey wrote in the caption on Instagram. “What a moment ❤️.”

Carey smiled in the picture, sandwiched between Monroe and Moroccan as they posed in front of the well-known cultural icon. The singer of “Fantasy” wore a loose-fitting vest, striped leggings, and a cropped leather jacket as part of an easygoing ensemble. She complemented the look with stud earrings, a Louis Vuttion cap, and a ponytail. Carey also shared a picture of herself standing at the foot of a flight of escalators, arms spread, posing alone beneath the Christ the Redeemer statue.

Carey coping mechanism during the loss

Carey’s cultural excursion in Rio de Janeiro with the twins follows the group’s recent trip to Beijing to see the Great Wall of China. “At China’s Great Wall! On X (previously Twitter) on September 14, Carey made a joke about the trip, saying, “Someone shoulda warned me about heels .”

Monroe and Moroccan, Carey’s twins, are shared by her ex-husband Nick Cannon. The singer, 43-year-old Cannon, recently talked about how she is handling the loss of her sister Alison and mother Patricia, who passed away a few weeks apart in August. Cannon, who wed Carey from 2008 until 2016, told Page Six of The New York Post, “She’s doing the best that she possibly can, considering the circumstances.” “But we just have to be there for one another as a family, to support and show love.”

Carey is “having a great time with the kids,” according to Cannon, which has helped divert her attention during this trying time. He stated, “It’s amazing to see them supporting their mom in this way because that is, you know, the most important thing in the world to her.”

Prior to her tour of the city with her twins, the renowned performer gave a concert in São Paulo on September 20. “Brazil, it was worth waiting for! After the performance, Carey posted pictures from the incredible concert on Instagram and commented, “Last night in São Paulo was one of my favorite concerts ever.” “Thank you so much for all the love ❤️. See you tomorrow in Rio!!! ,” she added. Carey’s next scheduled performance is on Sunday, September 22, at the 2024 Rock in Rio music event.
