The tribute comes after Payne’s sudden death on October 16 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he fell from a third-floor balcony. Emergency services confirmed that Payne suffered “serious injuries” and attempts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful. Alberto Crescenti, the emergency service chief, stated, “Based on what the team saw, there was apparently a cranial fracture and extremely serious injuries that led to his immediate death.” A preliminary autopsy confirmed that Payne died from “internal and external” hemorrhages, with no indications of foul play. Crescenti added that Payne likely “may have fallen in a state of semi or total unconsciousness.”
